Summer Reading Program
2009 Summer Reading
The library's summer reading program begins each year in June and runs through July. During the program, children have a chance to attend events and earn prizes for the hours that they read. Participants can begin keeping track of their reading hours as soon as they register. View the 2010 program flyer

Story Times
During June and July 2009, the Penn Area Library will hold story times on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. All ages are welcome to attend.

In October, the regular schedule resumes for the following age groups:

Toddler -- 2-3 year olds (Mondays 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.)
Preschool -- 4-6 year olds (Tuesday 11:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.)
Baby Lap Sit -- 6 to 18 months (Thursday 11:00 a.m.)

Toddlers and preschoolers are read books, do a craft, little exercises, finger plays, and sing. Babies hear stories, listen to songs and nursery rhymes, and sing. Parents must sign-up children for these programs. They can come into the library or call.

Youth Reading Clubs
The Penn Area Library has reading groups for both boys and girls:

Girls Read -- 4th Wednesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Guys Read -- 3rd Thursday of each month, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
