Summer Reading Program
The library’s summer reading program begins each year in June and runs through July. During the program, children have a chance to attend events and earn prizes for the hours that they read. Participants can begin keeping track of their reading hours as soon as they register.View the 2017 Summer Program flyer
To register children for any of the reading programs, call 724-744-4414, visit the library, or register on our event calendar.
Registrations will begin in September for our fall Reading Programs.
- Toddlers, ages two and a half and three, will meet every Monday.
Story time sessions will be available at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
- Pre-K, ages four through six will meet every Tuesday.
Sessions will be available at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Parents with children in two age categories should choose the group most appropriate for their children.
Books and Blocks will be held on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. for children 17 to 30 months of age.
“Dogs and Tales” our monthly reading program for emergent readers, where the children read to trained service dogs, will start on Wednesday, September 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Reading PALs Girls’ Book Club, ages eight and up, will begin again in September. The girls will meet on Wednesdays, from 6:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. The book club meets once a month.
Youth Reading Clubs
Reading PALs Girls’ Book Club — Ages 8 and up
Teen Reading Club — Ages 13 -16
Both groups will meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
