To register children for any of the reading programs, call 724-744-4414, visit the library, or register on our event calendar.
Registrations will begin January 7th. Story times begin the week of January 28th, 2019.
- Toddlers, ages two and a half and three, will meet every Monday.
Story time sessions will be available at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
- Pre-K, ages four through six will meet every Tuesday.
Sessions will be available at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Parents with children in two age categories should choose the group most appropriate for their children.
Books and Blocks will be held on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. for children 17 to 30 months of age.
“Dogs and Tales” our monthly reading program for emergent readers, where the children read to trained service dogs, will continue on the third Wednesday of each month, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Chess Class, for grades K-8, meets every Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. This class is open to children with beginning to advanced skills. Our chess tournament will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 1:00 pm.
Youth Reading Clubs
Reading PALs Girls’ Book Club — Ages 8 and up
Teen Reading Club — Ages 13 -16
Both groups will meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
Summer Reading Program
Update coming May, 2019.
The library’s summer reading program begins each year in June and runs through July. During the program, children have a chance to attend events and earn prizes for the hours that they read. Participants can begin keeping track of their reading hours as soon as they register. View the 2018 Summer Program Flyer
