Do you have a new book favorite book? Submit a book review using the form below, and we will feature it on our upcoming Teen Zine.

Books reviews must be at least two paragraphs, and a maximum of 300 words. Click here to learn more about writing book reviews.

Please submit the following to receive your one (1) hour of community service:

  • Book Review
  • Photo of your book cover.
  • Your first and last name along with the name you would like for the submission to be published under.
    • *Note: All submissions can be published anonymously.
  • Star Rating: (e.g. 4/5 Stars)
  • Optional: A selfie to be featured with your book review.

Stop by the Penn Area Library to pick up a ‘Fill in the Blank’ packet in the Young Adult department. Earn up to two community service hours by submitting a short story, poem, or graphic novel spread for our upcoming Teen Zine.

Each kit includes 10+ retired catalog cards to use as a writing prompt. Check out the subject headings to see what inspires you. Once you have picked out your favorite card, create a short story, poem, or illustrate a graphic novel using the subjects.

Now the fun begins! Create your short story on Word or a Google Form. Prefer pen and paper? That’s okay too. Click here to download graphic novel templates!
